Mary E. Mikel
Principal, Private Wealth Advisor
As a Principal and Senior Wealth Manager at Montage Wealth Management, Mary enjoys working on a team of likeminded people who provide their clients with expertise in protecting and planning for their future. She loves to educate and empower her clients to be financially fit in a multitude of areas including retirement income planning, estate planning and education funding. She teaches her clients that proper financial planning should never have a “one size fits all” approach because no two people or situations are the same. Mary’s professional satisfaction comes from seeing her clients realize their dreams and giving them peace of mind and the ability to enjoy their lives.
Getting to know the goals and dreams of every client is incredibly important to Mary. She loves when a client comes to her with a complicated situation that she can help turn around with creative solutions that benefit both the client and the people they care about.
Mary has been working closely with her business partner, Cheryl, for over 20 years, in order to draw upon each other’s strengths and provide the best possible solutions to each client. Their collaborative approach has enabled both to focus on their personal areas of expertise and provide highly-specialized service to the clients they work with.
Mary graduated from St. John Fisher College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. She went on to work in sales until 1985 when a wealth manager she knew took notice of Mary’s natural gifts and talents in the financial arena. He recruited her to work at his firm, and she’s been loving this industry ever since.
In her career, Mary has been a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, and served as the President of the Rochester Life Underwriters Association. She is active in her community through West Irondequoit PTSA and Irondequoit Lacrosse Booster Club, and volunteers at the Mary Gooley Hemophilia Center. She and her husband, Dan, have been married for thirty-five years, and enjoy their three children and three grandchildren. In her free time, Mary practices yoga, takes spin classes, and gardens.
